These photos were taken using an old Nikon F3, a Nikon 300mm f2.8 lens and Fugi 800 speed film with the lens wide open and the shutter speed set at 1/125. The lighting is very poor requiring the relatively slow shutter speed. As a result, many of the photos appear somewhat blurred. Since the lens is also wide open to capture as much light as possible, there is a very narrow depth of field, i.e. only a very narrow range is in focus. (Note how fuzzy the backgrounds are.) When taking photos during sunlight hours I like to close the lens to at least f11 and have the shutter speed between 1/500 and 1/1000 to really freeze the action.
